As a soldier in “The Big Red 1” WW2, veterans fought in North Africa, Sicily and landed on Omaha Beach in the invasion of Normandy France on “D Day”. They captured the city of Aachen and broke the Siegfried Line. The Division suffered over 20,000 Casualties during its 443 days of combat in WW2.
