Bruise was a unique creature. Strange as this is, he was my friend even though he was just a fish. Gifted to me by a breeder, bruise had an intelligence few fish seem to possess. He did tricks at the top of his tank, leaping to get food from a pair of padded tweezers I fed him with. Bruise also enjoyed fluttering for me and showing off his beautiful colors. He lived at least two years over his written expiration date. You see, Betta Fish only live for about four years.. he was six when he chose to end it all by leaping from the tank.
