Botanical Art in watercolor - best for intermediate to advanced but beginners are welcome.

 

I will bring watercolor paper and transfer paper

 

Supplies for Class: Botanical Illustration in Watercolor Paper:

Palette: Flat ceramic palette or ceramic plate

Brushes: Fine tip, round brushes in sizes 03, 02, 00, 2

Synthetic is fine as long as it is small and pointed.

I use Winsor & Newton Series 7 and Rafael synthetics.

Princeton miniature brushes are also great.

Pigments: Windsor & Newton or Daniel Smith, Pans or Tubes

- Lemon Yellow

- Transparent Yellow

- Indian Yellow

- Scarlet Lake

- Quinacridone Rose

- Indanthrene Blue

- Phthalo Blue Red Shade

- Quinacridone Violet

Tracing Paper: 2 sheets of 11x14 or larger

Drawing Board for taping down paper, about 11x14 is fine

Masking Tape

Pencil in F or H

Gum Eraser

A soft towel for blotting brushes

Optional: a magnifying glass
