Owl + Color is a full day watercolor workshop. We will explore the stoic beauty of the owl through watercolor’s most captivating tension: delicate, loose passages alongside rich, saturated color. In this class, we’ll look at how to build both lightness and depth without overworking the painting—allowing water, pigment, and paper to do much of the work. Our focus will be on creating rich color in as few layers as possible, learning to mix and place strong pigment while preserving the freshness and transparency that make watercolor so alive. Loose washes, soft edges, intentional blooms, and carefully placed detail will come together to create an owl that feels both delicate and fierce.
A class in color, restraint, and the beautiful flow of water.
