NATURE DRAWING IN PENCIL
Learn the basics of drawing natural subjects from life using pencils
Description:
This three hour class will cover basic techniques for creating a line drawing of a flower, fruit or vegetable.
We will also practice rendering a subject with shading techniques. The instructor will bring a variety of
subjects to choose for a drawing.
Materials Needed:
1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. Artist grade wood pencils (Faber-Castell is great) in 6B, 2B, HB, 4H
Drawing Paper: Smooth 90lb paper about 11x14. A pad of Bristol Vellum works well.
Sketchbook: Canson XL or similar sketchbook with white drawing paper.
Erasers: Kneaded eraser, White plastic eraser, (Eraser stick - optional)
Sharpener: Handheld sharpener (Staedtler makes a good one) and soft sand paper
Blenders: paper blending stumps also called tortillons
Optional: a magnifying glass, different pencils or varying hardness
