I often paint figures alone in a space, being attracted to the simplicity and power of the human figure's shape.
When I first approached this subject, I thought of the woman as a Mother Nature symbol. The sharing of color between the her swimsuit and her environment expresses a oneness with the natural world, in an age when humans are increasingly disconnected from nature and its rejuvenating energy. Green, the color of renewal and harmony, provides a sense of fleeting coolness in a warming world
