About the event
John Walker has lived a life full of twists, turns, and music. A Fort Worth native, he became a bank VP at 25, but traded corporate life for the road as a touring singer-songwriter by 32. His song “Mileage” reflects on the loss of his first wife at 37—a life-altering experience that eventually led him to open MacHenry’s, a local venue known for spotlighting touring and hometown acts.
John’s music career has taken him coast to coast, sharing stages with legends like Townes Van Zandt, Robert Earl Keen, and Tim O’Brien. His albums Words and Soul of the Gypsy Cowboy earned acclaim, and he was twice featured at the Kerrville Folk Festival.
Though owning MacHenry’s slowed his writing, John’s creative spirit was reignited when he married Glenda in 2010. A multi-talented artist and performer in her own right, Glenda became his partner in life and music. Together, their harmonies reflect a true soulmate…
